i think it may be mushroom, coconut or milk...
just ate a cookie with coconut in it and a glass of milk.
now have diorehha.had some mushrooms yesturday... maybe its a delayed reaction?
but sometimes i have a bowl of cearal and it doesnt effect me...
and im pretty sure i have had cocnut and been fine.
same with the mushrroms.
i have alternating diarrhea and constipation alot of the time...

can doctors test for food intolerances or do you just have to go on an elimination diet?

Doctors can test for allergies, not sure about intollerances.  You usually try to eat the foods like you normally would before a test so it shows up more in a reaction for allergies.
For intollerances, they just told me to eliminate certain foods and then slowly try bringing it back in.

The best thing you can do is to start watching what you eat exactly. Make a list of all the ingredients and start to make a list of things that spark you off. If a correlation starts to appear it'd be worth going and get an allergen test.

Either way, it'd probably be a good idea to see your GP after all, that's what they're there for!
